The City of Thornton was founded in 1953, and is located approximately 10 miles North of Denver.  With a population well over 82,000 Thornton is another city along the I-25 corridor that has benefited from the recent population growth in the greater Denver metro area.

Located within the boundaries of Adams and Weld Counties Thornton has been a product of the recent foreclosure market in Colorado.  Although there has been increasing foreclosure rates in Thornton over the last year, Thornton has seen dramatic increases in home value since 2000.

The median house/condo value in 2005 was $219,200 up from $162,500 (2000).  Also, the median household income was $63,636 in 2005.

The Real Estate market in Thornton may be weak today in terms of value because of foreclosures, but as recent data shows there is a tremendous amount of value in many of the foreclosures in this area.
